invite you to investigate an adventure in which the Master says..

"The good Watson had at that time deserted me for a wife, the only selfish action which I can recall in our association. I was alone."

Our Spring 2005 Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 30th at 6 PM at the Cambridge Yacht Club .

The Spring Meeting of the comrades from upper Swandam Lane will begin at 6PM with a cash bar. President Art Renkwitz will deliver greetings and direct the toasting ( Toasts ) as the Denizens settle in for a delightful meal and unique festivities.

Our guest speaker for the evening is

Mr. Sherlock Holmes

How is this possible? How can our inspiration be personified and brought into our presence? I know this sounds impossible, but I believe it has been done. The soul of Sherlock Holmes has found its place in the bodies of various mortals such as, William Gillette, Arthur Wontner, Basil Rathbone, Douglas Wilmer, Jeremy Brett and others of notoriety. They have portrayed the Master with great aplomb. We have secured one such incarnation.

Through his agent John Sherwood, Mr. Holmes has agreed to appear at the Cambridge Yacht Club on April 30th. He will be with us through the entire meeting, answering your questions about his experiences as the world's first consulting detective.

Mr. Sherwood says of Mr. Holmes' appearance:

" Mr. Holmes's time will belong to the group for as long as the group wishes to meet, up to four hours. He'll be prepared to make his official presentation at any time, and that will last about 25 minutes; however, he also will take questions about the Canon and his long life, greet visitors, sign autographs, distribute his cards, engage in any and all conversations (and chitchat), pose for photos, etc. If asked not to smoke, he will refrain but only if asked.

By the way, Mr. Holmes is approaching his 151st birthday but, despite his age, he's quite hale and hearty, and doesn't require any special appliances or attention. The group should be warned, however, that his interests and knowledge aren't as universal or omniscient as those of his brother nor does he suffer fools gladly. He's still pretty much as Watson has described him."

...And so it shall be!

How could we be more grandly entertained, as Sherlockians? I hope you won't miss a minute of a fine presentation as we raise our glasses to toast the Master and his supporting cast.
